Mr. Charles Dickens has great pleasure in accepting the kind Invitation of the Lord Chief Baron and Lady Pollock for Wednesday the Seventeenth.4

1. Sir (Jonathan) Frederick Pollock (1783-1870; Dictionary of National Biography), Chief Baron of the Exchequer 1844-66. Knighted 1834; Bart 1866.
2. Sir Frederick’s second wife, Sarah Anne Amowah (née Langslow); married 1834; she died 1895.
