It is very painful to me to say that I am quite powerless to assist you. No such situation as you require is vacant in the establishment connected with the new Morning Paper:2 every kind of office attached to it, is already filled and applications similar to yours are so numerous that I have scarcely time to answer or even count them.
I have left your manuscript under cover for you at my house.3 After what I have said I am sure you will not expect that I should give you any opinion on it, having so little leisure for my own affairs.
