- 1. Charles Tertius Hebbert (1825-1908), son of military clothier Charles Hebbert (1785-1839), whose business premises were at 8 Pall Mall East. Hebbert Sr was a bibliophile, whose library was sold at auction in 1851 (Athenaeum 15 Mar 1851, p. 282).
- 2. Book Prices Current (1913) lists a copy of CD’s The Haunted Man, with Charles Hebbert’s bookplate, and a note from the author tipped inside, which reads “Mr. Charles Dickens to Mr. Hebbert and to which he invites his attention. Devonshire Terrace, Twenty Second December, 1848” (Book Prices Current 27 [London: Elliot Stock, 1913], p. 316).
