MS John Sykes
Address: Mr Newcomb | Chatham
GAD’S HILL PLACE,
HIGHAM BY ROCHESTER, KENT.
Thursday Twenty Eighth May, 1863.
Sir
Be so good as to observe that for whatever is bought in your establishment, for which I hold myself responsible, I shall always send you an order in writing. This does not imply that I have had, or that I expect to have, the slightest cause of complaint in this respect; it is merely a way of doing business that I wish to observe in all cases, as being quite satisfactory
Faithfully Yours
CHARLES DICKENS
Mr Newcomb
