- 1. Nelly (Helen) Lemon, née Romer (1817-90). Sister of the actor and composer Frank Romer, through whom she met and married (in 1839) CD's friend Mark Lemon (1809-70; Dictionary of National Biography), playwright and editor of Punch, 1841-70.
- 2. CD's daughter Dora had died suddenly on 14 Apr 1851.
- 3. CD's wife Catherine (1815-79).
- 4. CD's sister-in-law Georgina Hogarth (1827-1917).
